Rose Irene Harris, age 82, of Bloomington, died Wednesday morning at Garden Villa. Born October 30, 1932 in Bloomington, she was the daughter of John Scott and Anna (Russ) Anderson. She was a homemaker and many years ago worked as a waitress. She attended several churches over the years and played the piano for all of them. She loved going to Saturday night dances. She was very kind-hearted and would give a person the "shirt off her back", even though she maybe couldn't afford to.

Rose Irene Harris, age 82, of Bloomington, died Wednesday morning at Garden Villa. Born October 30, 1932 in Bloomington, she was the daughter of John Scott and Anna (Russ) Anderson. She was a homemaker and many years ago worked as a waitress. She attended several churches over the years and played the piano for all of them. She loved going to Saturday night dances. She was very kind-hearted and would give a person the "shirt off her back", even though she maybe couldn't afford to.
She is survived by her two sons; Daniel Hammon, of Beech Grove, Indiana and Robert Lee, of Elgin, Illinois; one daughter, Dianne Thompson, of Bloomington; three grandchildren, Melissa Turpin, Cassandra Crum and Joshua Turpin; two great-grandchildren, Brystin Brown and Riley Case; sister-in-law, Ruby Anderson, of Bloomington and her close friend and caregiver, Judy Clowers, of Bloomington.
Rose was preceded in death by three sisters, Lillian Hession, Helen Quimby and Dorothy Hacker and six brothers, Hubert Anderson, Paul Anderson, Carl Anderson, Willis Anderson, Richard Anderson and Norman Anderson.
The funeral service will be on Friday at 1:00 p.m. at the Day & Deremiah-Frye Funeral Home; 4150 E. Third St. with Rev. John Earl Turpin officiating. Burial will follow in Valhalla Memory Gardens. Friends may visit the family on Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
The family suggests memorial contributions to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of America.
